3D Wall Tiles Design Ideas for Indian Homes

15 designs Styles, colours and patterns Updated 8 Oct 2026

3D wall tiles have a raised or shaped surface, so light and shadow make the wall look deep. Some are truly carved, with waves, cubes or ribs you can feel. Others are flat digital tiles printed to look 3D. Both work, but they need different care.

This gallery shows 3D tiles design ideas for the hall, kitchen, bedroom, floor and front wall. Under every photo you will find the tile size, the surface and a note your fitter can follow. Use one 3D wall as a feature and keep the other walls plain. If you want flat walls with a print, see our wall tiles design page.

3D Wall Tiles Design for the Hall

The hall wall behind the sofa or TV unit is the best place for a 3D tiles design for wall use. Side light from a window or a cove light brings out the depth.

3D wall tiles design with white matt wave pattern behind a grey sofa in a hall
Size
300 x 600 mm
Finish
Matt textured
Best for
Hall sofa wall

Soft white waves give depth without adding colour, so the hall still feels open. It suits medium halls with a window on one side.

Fitter's tip: Line up the wave from tile to tile before fixing. A wave that breaks at a joint shows from across the room.

Grey 3D cube tiles on a TV unit wall in a modern Indian hall
Size
300 x 450 mm
Finish
Satin
Best for
TV wall in hall

Cube shapes in two shades of grey look like stacked boxes. Keep the TV unit slim and wall-hung so the pattern stays visible.

Fitter's tip: Fix the wall-mount brackets on blocking before tiling. Drilling through raised 3D tiles later often cracks the edge.

Beige 3D ribbed wall tiles on a dining corner wall of a hall

200 x 600 mm
Finish
Matt
Best for
Dining corner

Vertical ribs make a low ceiling look taller. This beige tone sits well with wood furniture and cream floor tiles.

Fitter's tip: Fix ribs perfectly plumb with a spirit level on every row. Even a small tilt is easy to see on vertical lines.

3D Tiles for Kitchen Walls

In the kitchen, use 3D tiles with a gentle texture and a glaze. Deep grooves catch oil and masala splashes, so keep the deep shapes away from the hob.

3D tiles for kitchen backsplash in white glossy arch pattern above a granite counter
Size
300 x 450 mm
Finish
Glossy
Best for
Kitchen backsplash

A shallow glossy arch pattern wipes clean with a damp cloth. It suits small kitchens that need to look bright.

Fitter's tip: Use epoxy grout behind the hob and sink. Cement grout in grooves turns yellow from oil within a year.

Sage green 3D hexagon relief tiles on a kitchen wall with wooden shelves
Size
200 x 230 mm hex
Finish
Satin glaze
Best for
Open shelf wall

Raised hexagons in a sage glaze add colour and texture on the open shelf wall, away from direct cooking splashes.

Fitter's tip: Dry-lay a full row of hexagons on the counter first. Cutting starts at the side edges, never at the centre.

Grey textured 3D stone look tiles on a kitchen dado wall with steel sink
Size
300 x 600 mm
Finish
Textured matt
Best for
Sink wall

A low stone texture hides water spots near the sink. Grey textured wall tiles like this suit hard water areas.

Fitter's tip: Seal the bottom joint at the counter with silicone, not grout. It flexes and keeps water out.

3D Floor Tiles Design

3D floor tiles are flat tiles printed with a 3D effect. They must stay flat, because a raised floor is a trip risk for elders and children.

3D floor tiles design with black, white and grey tumbling block pattern in a foyer
Size
600 x 600 mm
Finish
Matt
Best for
Small foyer

The classic tumbling block looks like steps rising from the floor. Use it only in a small foyer, as a big area can feel dizzy.

Fitter's tip: Start from the centre of the foyer so the cube pattern sits even at both walls.

Beige 3D digital floor tiles with soft geometric pattern in a bedroom
Size
800 x 800 mm
Finish
Satin
Best for
Bedroom floor

A soft beige print gives a quiet 3D effect that will not tire the eye. It hides dust well in a dry room.

Fitter's tip: Check the arrow on the back of each box. Mixing directions breaks the 3D effect on the floor.

Grey 3D wave print floor tiles in a long corridor of an Indian flat
Size
600 x 1200 mm

Best for
Passage

Floor tiles 3D design with a wave print draws the eye along a narrow passage. Keep walls white so the floor is the focus.

Fitter's tip: Lay long tiles along the corridor, not across it, and use levelling clips for flat joints.

3D Tiles for Bedroom Feature Walls

Behind the bed is the safest spot for 3D tiles for room walls. Nothing rubs against it and the texture looks soft under warm lights.

Headboard wall

Large raised petals in a pale pink tone make a calm headboard wall. 3D flower tiles like these suit a girls' room or a guest room.

Fitter's tip: Order the full design set as one lot. Flower panels from two batches never match in shade.

Wooden 3D slat look tiles on a master bedroom feature wall
Size
200 x 1200 mm
Finish
Matt textured
Best for
Master bedroom

Wood look 3D tiles give the warmth of panelling without termite worries. They suit humid coastal cities where real wood swells.

Fitter's tip: Use brown grout to match the wood tone, so joints vanish between the slats.

3D wall poster tiles with a mountain and lake scenery in a kids room
Size
300 x 450 mm set
Finish
Glossy
Best for
Kids room wall

3D wall poster tiles are sets of printed tiles that form one big scene. Pick a calm scenery and keep the rest of the room simple.

Fitter's tip: Lay the full set on the floor in order first. Number the backs in pencil before fixing.

3D Front Wall Tiles and Dholpuri Cladding

Outside, real stone and strong 3D cladding last longer than printed tiles. Sun fades some prints, so pick full body or natural stone for the front wall.

Size
100 x 400 mm strips
Finish
Natural cut
Best for
Front wall

Dholpuri tiles 3D cut into raised strips give a warm cream stone front. Sandstone stays cool in summer and looks better with age.

Fitter's tip: Apply a clear breathable sealer after fixing so monsoon rain does not leave dark patches.

Charcoal 3D concrete wall tiles on a modern front wall beside the gate
Size
600 x 600 mm
Finish
Textured
Best for
Modern front wall

3D concrete tiles in charcoal give a modern, solid look. They hide dust and rain streaks better than light colours.

Fitter's tip: Fix outside tiles with polymer adhesive and full back coverage. Hollow spots let rain in and tiles fall.

Red 3D brick tiles with split face finish on an Indian house front
Size
60 x 240 mm
Finish
Split face
Best for
Pillars and fronts

Split face 3D brick tiles give a rough, real brick look without the weight of full bricks. Red brick suits villa style homes.

Fitter's tip: Keep a 10 mm joint and rake it with a pointing tool for a true brick look.

How to Choose a 3D Tiles Design

  • Raised or printed: raised 3D tiles have real depth and need side light. Printed 3D digital tiles are flat, so they are easier to clean and safe on floors.
  • One wall only: use 3D on one feature wall. Three textured walls make a small room feel crowded.
  • Light: raking light from a window or cove light shows the shape. A wall lit straight on looks almost flat.
  • Cost: deep relief, large sizes and full body stone cost more. Fitting also takes longer, because every joint must line up.

For the right colour, see tiles colour design. For a feature wall in the main room, our living room wall tiles page has more ideas.

Fitting and Cleaning 3D Wall Tiles

Raised tiles need a flat, cured plaster wall. Fix with a good adhesive rather than a heavy mortar layer, and butter the back of every tile. Keep joints at 2 mm and wipe extra grout out of the grooves before it sets. Buy about 10 percent extra, and keep two spare tiles of each design piece for repairs.

To clean, dust with a soft paintbrush once a week. Wash with mild soap water and a soft brush. Avoid acid cleaners, as they dull the glaze and eat cement grout.

Tile questions people ask

Are 3D tiles good for a room wall in India?

Yes, on one feature wall in a dry room. They hide small plaster defects and need no painting. In dusty cities, choose a shallow relief that you can brush clean easily.

Can I use 3D floor tiles design in the hall?

Yes, if the tile is flat with a printed 3D effect. Choose a soft pattern for a large hall, because strong cube prints over a big area can feel dizzy. Use a matt finish so it is not slippery.

Are 3D tiles for kitchen walls hard to clean?

Deep grooves trap oil, so pick a glossy tile with a shallow pattern near the hob. Use epoxy grout. A weekly wipe with warm soap water keeps it clean.

Which 3D tiles for bedroom walls look best?

Soft wave, rib or 3D flower tiles in light colours work well behind the bed. Pair them with warm lights fixed above, so the shapes cast gentle shadows.

Do 3D tiles images look the same once fitted?

Not always. Photos often use strong side light. Ask the shop to show you a sample board under normal room light, and check one full box before you buy the rest.

What are 3D wall poster tiles?

They are a set of printed tiles that join to make one large picture, such as a landscape. Each tile has a set place, so the fitter must follow the order on the box.
